Professional Mediators of Alaska is a nonprofit organization formed in 2015 to support the mediation profession and encourage its use in Alaska as an alternative form of conflict resolution.

The goals and objectives of Professional Mediators of Alaska are to:

  • Educate the public about the benefits of mediation for the resolution of family,  business, and community conflicts
  • Provide ongoing training opportunities for professional mediators
  • Promote the profession of mediation
  • Encourage collaboration among mediators and develop a statewide network of professional mediators
  • Promote adherence to standards of practice among professional mediators

Ethics and Professional Responsibility

All professional members of the association have committed to adhere to the Model Standards of Conduct for Mediators, adopted by the American Arbitration Association, the American Bar Association, and the Association for Conflict Resolution in September 2005.
